Water coming through a ceiling is one of the most alarming plumbing emergencies — and one of the most damaging. A ceiling holding pooled water can sag, bulge and eventually collapse, so it needs a fast response.
The leak is almost always coming from above: a burst pipe, an overflowing tank, a failed seal on a bath or shower, or a leaking radiator or toilet upstairs. We trace it to its source, stop the water, and make the repair — then help you deal with the damage to the ceiling and anything underneath.
If you have confirmed a split pipe rather than only seeing the ceiling symptom, go straight to our burst pipe emergency service.
If the ceiling is bulging or water is near light fittings, stay out of the room and call us straight away. We cover Bromley and south-east London around the clock, and we’ll photograph and document everything for your insurer.

What to do right now in Petts Wood
- Turn off your main stop tap (clockwise) to stop the water supply.
- Do not touch wet fittings. If you can safely reach a dry consumer unit, switch off electrics to the affected room.
- Put a bucket under the worst of the drip — but do NOT stand under a bulging ceiling.
- Call us immediately — a sagging, water-filled ceiling can come down.
